Long Term Care insurance companies have long lists of conditions and medications that may make applicants unacceptable. These include such conditions as Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, Lou Gehrig’s disease, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Muscular Dystrophy, Myasthenia, Gravis, and Tuberculosis. But this doesn’t mean that all LTC carriers look at conditions the same way. Preexisting conditions such as Heart disease, Cancer, Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Osteoporosis, Emphysema, and Stroke may be covered by one company, rated by another, and unacceptable altogether by others. The best ways to find out: Ask us.

The underwriting process can take 30 to 60 days and is mainly dependent upon the time it takes to obtain medical information from the applicant’s doctor. No medical examination is required, but each applicant must answer detailed questions about their health. Knowing what company to apply to in advance, depending upon the medical condition, will save a lot of time. Call us, fax us, or E-mail us with your underwriting questions today!
